OUR PROGRESS
September 21 - 27
Sey Stein built an outreach tracker, verified prospective organizations, and prepared letters for collaboration to masonic museums and libraries both nationally and abroad. She reported contacting 26 additional museums and cultural institutions in the United States and liaised with and confirmed new partnerships and collaboration with Joe Evans at the Henry W. Coil Library and Museum as well as Samantha Tubbs from the Robert. R Livingston Grand Lodge of New York.
Christian Torres drafted outreach for collaboration with local cultural institutions and contacted museums including the Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County, the California African American Museum, MOCA, the Academy Museum, and the Underground Museum.
The cohort also began the museum’s fundraising infrastructure by developing and filing an initial donor appeal with four giving levels.
Week 1
September 27 - October 3
Sey Stein uncovered collection displacements from the 1990's and identified collaborative museums and fraternal colleagues who may hold imperative materials to the collection.
Sey continued partnership outreach and secured a meeting with Christian D. Moore of the Grand Lodge of Texas Masonic Library & Museum. Sey secured additional partnerships and meetings with various institutional partners.
Christian created an in-kind donation request focused on archival supplies, museum discounts, product donations, and nonprofit purchasing programs. He created lists of potential sponsors and began outreach.
The cohort expanded its fundraising materials with a corporate-sponsorship template, an in-kind support letter, and a revised donor appeal containing four giving levels and a direct donation link via various softwares. These materials established separate approaches for individual donors, founding corporate sponsors, and suppliers.
At the museum-leadership level, the Museum of Freemasonry in London expressed interest in opening a collaboration conversation. Discussions began with the Walt Disney Archives team regarding potential collaborations.
